Janamunnettam - hold a 36 hours dharana in front of the government secretariat at Trivandrum demanding government to alter its policies which adversely affecting public education system and children of the marginalized. Dharana started with a secretariat march. Governments’ pro privatization policies producing more and more “uneconomic schools’ in the state every year. There are disproportionate concentration of the children of the marginalized in these schools , Dharna also demands the government to appoint a education commission to look in to educational backwardness of the marginalized, restore reservation for marginalized in +1 admission at Government aided schools, and implementation of CSS.

A delegation of Janamunnettam met Minister for Scheduled Caste development, Minister for Scheduled tribe Development, Minister for Education and submit the memorandum of demands.
